Parent Involvement: What Works?
People for Education, 2008.
In this review of the literature on parent involvement, the author finds that there is no uniform agreement on what constitutes parent involvement and/or engagement. Among the conclusions: “…the less conspicuous aspects of parent engagement may have more of an impact that we have tended to believed. Getting parents involved in their children’s education in a way that improves their chances for success may be as simple as creating an educationally oriented atmosphere at home.”
