People for Education, 2011.

The report tracks programs and resources in schools, including things like special education waiting lists, percentages of schools with music teachers and teacher-librarians, fundraising amounts and educational assistants.

In 2011, we reported for the first time on the relationship between average levels of poverty in schools and the size of school children attend, or whether they are getting the special education services they are entitled to.  We also looked at arts and phys ed specialist qualifications in the province, and whether schools have strategies in place for information literacy.

The report is based on results from People for Education’s Annual School Survey, which is distributed to every publicly funded kindergarten to grade 12 school in the province. Over 1,000 Ontario schools participated in the survey in 2010-2011.
