The Ministry of Education has developed a list of categories of special education exceptionalities to assist in identifying what kind of support the student needs. Special education changes may open doors for more students
According to a memo from the Ministry of Education, "all students with demonstrable learning based needs" including conditions such as ADD/ADHD, Tourette Syndrome and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, are entitled to appropriate special education programs and services.
