Kelly Gallagher-Mackay
Research Director
Kelly Gallagher-Mackay is the Research Director at People for Education. Kelly is a lawyer who recently completed a PhD at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, with a strong focus on educational equality issues. In an earlier life she was co-founder and the first director of Akitsiraq Law School in Iqaluit, Nunavut, a fully certified LL.B. program for Inuit students. She also did legal work in New York City, Toronto and Bolivia. Kelly has been learning much about public education as a parent of two children in elementary school (senior kindergarten and grade 3) and through work with childcare programs.
